Rare PLU Unveiled

To soften the blow, Plutus rolled out Rare PLU – a shiny new token with a capped supply, initially valued at up to 10x regular PLU. The catch? You only earn it on specific “boosted” transactions, like certain merchant spends or promos. I snagged a tiny bit – about 1.2 Rare PLU – testing it on an Amazon perk spend. It’s early days, but at around £5-6 each now (based on PLU’s current rate), it’s a glimmer of hope. Still, it’s not replacing the old reward flow anytime soon – more of a collector’s bonus than a game-changer.

Perks Breakdown

In March 2025, I maxed out my 7 perks at the Hero tier, pulling in the bulk of my 37.46 PLU for the month. Here’s what I used: Sainsbury’s (£100, stacked twice for £50 each), Uber/Uber Eats (£50, used once for £50), ASDA (£100, stacked twice for £50 each), Shell (£50), and Amazon (£50). Those £50 caps per perk kept the PLU flowing, even with the reward cut slashing my base cashback.

Looking ahead, I’ve only locked in 1 of my 7 perks for April 2025 so far – Sainsbury’s (£100, worth £50 in PLU). I’m holding off on stacking the rest until I see how my spending shakes out. At Hero tier, I’ve got room to play, and I’ll likely double up on ASDA or Uber again – those are my go-tos for steady returns.

My Lab Results: Plutus March 2025 Update

As of April 1, 2025, I’ve stacked 2,382 PLU since starting in March 2023 – that’s £1,390 at today’s rate ($0.7385/PLU, $1 = £0.79). Last month alone, March 2025, I earned 37.46 PLU (about £21.90). Not exactly a jackpot, right? Here’s why: Plutus dropped a bombshell, cutting PLU rewards tenfold mid-month. What used to net me 3-4 PLU per £100 spent is now 0.3-0.4 PLU. Ouch. My 7 perks (£50 each) still delivered the bulk – 323 PLU was my haul last month before the nerf hit. Crypto’s a wild ride, but this tweak stung a bit.

Reward Level Check

I’m still rocking the Hero reward level in March 2025 – no change there. My external stack sits at 2,066.26 PLU, powering my 4% card reward and 4% CRY (crypto yield) rates. To hit the next tier, Veteran, I need to stack another 933.74 PLU – a hefty climb, especially with the reward cut slowing my pace. My total earnings to date? 2,382 PLU. Breaking it down: 0 PLU from card rewards this month (thanks, tenfold cut), 0 PLU from CRY payouts (still locked), 0 PLU from perks (logged separately), and 0 PLU from Golden Ticket referrals in March. That 37.46 PLU I earned last month came mostly from perks, with a sprinkle of Rare PLU. The screenshot shows how it all adds up – or doesn’t – post-nerf.

Lab Reflections

March’s lean PLU haul (37.46) reflects the reward cut’s mid-month timing – I’d normally pull 300+ with my Hero tier (4% cashback, 7 perks). The Rare PLU tease and gift card tweaks show Plutus is pivoting, but it’s a slower burn now. I’m still in – those perks keep it worthwhile, and I’ve got PLU locked for 45 days growing in the background. Total earned since day one (2,382 PLU) is £1,390 – not bad for two years of swiping.
